The Chevrolet Corvette is one of the most iconic sports cars to ever come out of Detroit and today, they unveiled the fastest, most powerful version of the icon since its debut in 1953.

The Corvette ZR1 was dubbed the “King of the Hill” when it debuted in 2009, well, the King of the Hill returns in the all-new 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. The 2025 ZR1 boasts the most powerful V8 engine ever made by an American automaker that propels the ZR1 to some mind numbing performance statistics.
The ZR1 comes available in both Coupe and Convertible variants with both featuring a 5.5 liter twin-turbocharged DOHC flat-plane crank V8 dubbed the new ‘LT7’. The LT7 is based on the Z06’s LT6 V8 and sent to the moon with its twin turbos. The new LT7 V8 produces 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 RPMs and 828 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 RPMs.

General Motors estimates that the 2025 ZR1 can reach a top speed of 215mph on the track and can reach the quarter mile time in less than 10-seconds. All four of GM’s test drivers achieved 200mph easily on the Nürburgring in Germany.
On the outside, you will notice two major features of the new ZR1. The 2025 ZR1 will be the first car to feature the split rear window on the Corvette since the second gen C2 Corvette. The split window is not just for looks either, the carbon fiber spine allows for heat extraction for that LT7 V8 and is available in bare carbon as well as the car’s body color.

The second major exterior feature to the ZR1 ZTK is the car’s incredible carbon fiber aerodynamics. The ZR1’s aero creates more downforce than any other street car in Corvette history. Over 1,200lbs of downforce when at top speed. A large, high-downforce rear spoiler, front dive planes and a tall hood gurney lip that are all made from woven carbon fiber.
The standard ZR1 a small spoiler with customer adjustable tall and short wickers, a carbon fiber front splitter, rocker moldings, side intakes with integrated break cooling and front underwing with stall gurney deflectors.
Additional features on the exterior that are unique to the ZR1 are a carbon fiber roof to further reduce weight as well as lower the car’s center of gravity, unique aluminum wheels with four finish options including Edge Blue that pays homage to the ZR1s signature color. The car also offers optional carbon fiber wheels that are unique to the ZR1 to reduce mass further. Look beneath the mid-placed hood and you’ll find Edge Blue engine intakes.

The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will be built at GM’s Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky alongside the Stingray, Z06 and E-Ray variants starting in 2025. The LT7 engine will be hand built at the Performance Build Center by the master engine builders at the facility.
