In 2026, the Ford Motor Company will do something unexpected. They will bring heavy-duty to the mid-sized truck market. How might you add? The company that sells more trucks than any other will start producing a Ranger with a 9,900 lb tow capacity.

“Ranger Super Duty further strengthens our commercial vehicle portfolio, with an offering for all kinds of work. As we move closer to launch, we will continue to work closely with fleets and vehicle modifiers across Australia to be sure that Ranger Super Duty does everything they expect it to, and so much more,” said Andrew Birkic, President and CEO, Ford Australia and New Zealand.
Ford says the Ranger Super Duty will feature more towing and better off-road capabilities and be targeted towards those who need that type of capability. They have emergency services, miners, forestry, farmers, and more in mind. The truck is being developed in the Australian market and produced in Thailand for multiple global markets. It is not yet known if the US will receive the Ranger Super Duty, though a truck like that could potentially eat into sales of the F-150.
